是针灸三通法的创始人。他对针灸事业的主要贡献有:医武结合

疗效显著;参与创建北京中医医院针灸科;创立贺氏针灸三通法;提倡火针疗法;著书立说

传道授业;提倡针灸文化;铸造针灸铜人等。他的成就为针灸医学的发展增添了光辉的一页。
