循经取穴是在脏腑经络理论指导下进行针灸临床治疗的。能否熟谙掌握这一理论体系与提高针灸疗效有密切关系。经络学说认为:"十二经脉者

内属于脏腑

外络于肢节"

是人体气血运行的通道。每一通道上分布着一定数目的俞穴

这些俞穴就是人体脏腑经络之气所输注于体表的部分。
