详细论述了我国传统针灸医学的四个特色、五大优势。四个特色是:①以经络腧穴、气血运行理论为核心的理论特色;②通过刺激于外、调整于内达到防治疾病的效应机制特色;③以综合运用经络辨证、脏腑辨证、八纲辨证和腧穴诊断为主要内容的临床诊断特色;④由独特的治疗工具和特殊的操作手法构成的技术特色。五大优势是:①诊断优势:简单、快速、准确;②技术优势:容易掌握、操作简便;③疗效优势:见效快

疗效明显

适宜病症广泛;④安全优势:无毒

极少不良反应;⑤经济优势:治疗成本相对低廉。指出针灸医学应该能够在中国特色的医疗卫生服务体系中发挥更加重要的作用。
