Origin, development and advantageous disease spectrum of the "Zhibian (BL 54) through Shuidao (ST 28)" needling technique
This paper systematically reviews the historical evolution of the "Zhibian (BL 54) through Shuidao (ST 28)" needling technique by examining the history of the
Mang
needle
controversies and positioning of the Zhibian (BL 54)
and the formation and essentials of the needling technique. Furthermore
the advantageous disease spectrum of this needling technique is summarized
and speculates on potential advantageous disease spectrum from the neural mechanisms of obtaining
qi
and achieving efficacy. Lastly
this paper discusses the inadequacies in the research on " Zhibian (BL 54) through Shuidao (ST 28)" needling technique
aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding and reference for further research on this technique.
